Veteran actress Lou Carter Keay (LOU*LOU) did the first color television commercial for Folgers Coffee for NBC-TV in the mid-50s, and through the years has done many commercials, including a wireless phone commercial for France, a GPS for Japan and a Colombian beer commercial airing in South America.
She has performed on the stage in regional theatre and in dinner theatre. One of the seven founders of the Greater Fort Worth Community Theatre (now the prestigious Scott Theatre), she has appeared in many plays.
LOU*LOU has been seen on CBS-TV’s LATE, LATE SHOW with Craig Ferguson, the TIM & ERIC SHOW on the Cartoon Network, and SIGNIFICANT OTHERS on the BRAVO Channel.
Her most recent film credits include WILLIE MAYS & THE EMPTINESS, TRAILER PARK OF TERROR, and REPO. She is a member of the cast for ROCHEZ & COMPANY, a television series pilot.
LOU*LOU currently serves on the alumni boards of Emerson College and Texas Christian University West Coast Alumni. She is an active member of Texas Woman’s University Former Students Association (West Coast Chapter). She is also on the Board of Directors for Women in Show Business and Independent Writers of Southern California. She is a regional director (and publishes a monthly newsletter for California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii) for Intertel, an international society for the intellectually gifted.
A member of Women in Film, Women in Theatre, Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters, Women’s National Book Association (Past National Secretary and Past President of the LA Chapter), LOU*LOU is a Life Member of Book Publicists of Southern California. She also is a member of National Writers’ Association (Past Vice President of the LA Chapter), Professional Dancers’ Society, Southern California Motion Picture Council, The Troupers, Creative Actors’ Alliance and a Life Member of The Actors’ Network. She is also a Life Member of Mensa.
Professionally she is a member of Screen Actors’ Guild and the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists.
Believing that “service is the dues we pay for our place on this earth”, she has recruited volunteers for International Student Film Festival Hollywood, Cross Cultural Film Festival, Women in Theatre Red Carpet Awards, and Methodfest.
